"Lighter Than Air" by L; video project

Video presents an enormous challenge to the artist; the temptation to let the medium do the “heavy lifting” is ever-present and the wide-stretched canvas of the internet (guilty, as charged) has done its digital best to blur the lines between gifted and simply gigabyte. L’s first foray into the medium is a telling piece: the stark simplicity seems to mock the medium by refusing any tricks available at the press of a button. Voila. It’s simply a painting set adrift. Such restraint, in my mind, is cutting edge.
